The 8th Phuket International Beer Fest is set to swill on Saturday September 22nd from 5pm at the Watermark restaurant, Boat Lagoon Marina in Phuket.
Each year a grand prize is given out for the best beer, in this unusual festival in which participants bring their own beer. In the past it has attracted scores of beer brands from around the world as entrants are required to bring 12 foreign beers at registration.
The Watermark describes itself as a unique waterfront experience - a contemporary brasserie serving modern cuisine and contemporary Thai food. Fabulous cocktails with well-chosen wines and cigars are also on the menu and it’s open from 10am to late seven days a week. Weekly favourites like Fab Friday and Punchline Comedy have made this restaurant and bar popular with locals.
The festival is a popular event in Phuket attracting a large crowd of locals and foreigners to gathering of the largest selection of beers in Thailand. And with such an international community in Phuket the range of beers that have turned up in the past has been quite impressive.
