A flight attendant aboard a Krabi bound flight made several jokes during the safety procedures demonstration which have been posted up on YouTube. The video clip posting by user @saymawa has since been viewed by almost 700,000 people.
Thai weather bureau announces monsoon arrival

A weather report issued by the southern Thai Meteorological Department over the weekend used the word monsoon for the first time this year. The forecast stated that the Andaman Sea provinces of Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun would probably experience heavy monsoon rains and high winds.
Luxury Railay resort opens new guest villas

One of Krabi's finest resorts has announced it will open eight new villas during the coming weeks. A publicist for the five-star Rayavadee on the Phranang Peninsula said the two-storey, 115m² villas had been built in the resort’s signature circular fashion.
New Krabi airline gets set for launch

The managing director of a new airline that will serve Krabi says all systems are go and it is accepting reservations for one of its new routes. Woranate Laprabang, the boss of Thai Smile Air, announced on Friday the airline was now accepting bookings for its Bangkok to Macau flights and other forthcoming routes would be open for reservations soon.
Krabi unaffected by tsunami alert

Tourists visiting Krabi were unaffected by tsunami warnings last Wednesday afternoon and the Thai resort soon returned to normal. The tsunami alert was issued by the Thai National Disaster Warning Centre following an 8.6 magnitude earthquake off the coast of northern Indonesia.

The forthcoming Krabi Rock and Fire International Contest has already attracted intense interest, even though it will not start for almost three weeks. The 2012 event will feature three different categories: Climbing Marathon, Deep Water Soloing and a Fire Contest. The Fire Contest allows climbers to choose their own style.
