3000 red shirt protesters to rally at vacation home of Surayid

A local red-shirt leader in Udon Thani vowed on Friday to lead 3,000 demonstrators to join a rally of the red-shirt movement in front of the holiday home of Privy Councillor Surayud Chulanont on Monday.

Kwanchai Praiphana claimed the red-shirt protesters of Udon Thani would leave the province at 5am to join the rally in front of Surayud’s house at the Khao Yai Tieng Mountain in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Sikhiew district.

He also claimed the demonstrators from Udon Thani would bring food and water for the three day stay.

Kwanchai said the red-shirt demonstrators wanted to highlight the government’s double standards in enforcing the laws against encroachers of the forest reserve at the mountain.

Kwanchai accused Surayud of being allowed to keep the land but villagers who encroached on the land at the mountain were arrested.
