Tropical storm expected

VISITORS to the Krabi region have been warned to button down the hatches as a tropical storm is predicted to hit at the weekend.

The Thai Meteorological Department announced that severe weather should reach the Kingdom from March 7-9 and is likely to cause some disruption to travel arrangements.

Tropical storms can have swirling winds of up to 70mph which can be hazardous to health and cause severe damage to property, although experts do not know what the likely strength of thisĀ one will be.

Meteorologists have also reported that temperatures in Thailand are likely to hit 43C at the end of the month and into the first weeks of April.
