Andaman Sea resort reopens

11 Jul 2011

An island resort in the Andaman Sea between Krabi and Phuket has reopened after a major refurbishment. The Yao Noi Island branch of resort and spa management company Six Senses has had its 54 villas refreshed as well as garden and tropical tree areas cut back.

Paths through the lush 24-care complex have been widened and some of the jungle vines and trees pruned to allow resort visitors unparalleled views of the spectacular limestone pillars that dot Phang Nga Bay. The Hilltop Reserve at the resort has been turned into a luxury complex with pool and restaurant.

The restaurant now serves meals and beverages throughout the day. Diners are able to enjoy one of the most amazing views in Thailand from here. The villas at Six Senses Koh Yao Noi are state-of-the-art constructions with private infinity-edge pools, wireless internet access, satellite TV and other appliances and utilities designed to maximise guests’ comfort and pleasure.

Although the Six Senses resort on Koh Yao Noi is primarily aimed at the rich and famous, the island has a number of less expensive options which are great for holidaymakers seeking a few days of relaxation while travelling between Phuket and Krabi.

Koh Yao Noi is a quieter location than its more famous neighbours, but has a great choice of activities. These include sea kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, hiking, and taking in demonstrations of rubber tapping and fishing. The island can be accessed by long-tail boat from Krabi, Phuket and Phang Nga.
